Covered Up is back! After we had, uh, covered Iron Maiden’s classic “The Trooper” the last time, we’re staying British and we’re staying classic. In an homage to the immortal Lemmy we have handpicked 10 of the most unusual cover versions of Motörhead’s maybe most iconic track “Ace of Spades”!

The original is one of the most iconic pieces that heavy metal has to offer and is a timeless classic, so for reference, here’s Motörhead!

“Ace of Spades” is known for its sawing guitars, pumping bass, hammering pace and Lemmy’s trademark snarl. Now if you take away the sawing guitars and hammering pace and replace them with…two acoustic guitars? Well, that’s what you get when you listen to the homage of German fun metallers J.B.O., who did a pretty great job here!

How many people do you need to do “Ace of Spades” justice? Exactly one. Lewis Floyd Henry has made a name of himself as one of the most varied street performers out there!

Hayseed Dixie was one of the first bands to cover rock and metal songs completely outside of the comfort zone by teleporting them into the world of dixie and bluegrass.

The banjo is back! We already had dixie, now we’re going bluegrass. Brazilian bluegrass! O Bardo e o Banjo are showing yet another facade of the heads that like motors!

Our Iron Maiden edition had a unique Finnish band taking on the classic with Steve’N’Seagulls. Now for this one we finish with something Finnish, too, but these guys make Steve’N’Seagulls look perfectly normal. Don’t believe me? Oh, the Porkka Playboys are a sight to behold.
