Shredding Enslaved
Enslaved is a special band, they cross so many genre boundaries and have redefined what black metal is and can be. Whether they were setting the standards for second wave black metal in 1993, or setting the standards for psychedelic black metal in 2000 Enslaved has been a major trail blazer in metal.

2015 was another excellent year. While there are some fairly obvious candidates for a top 30 I missed out on or discovered too late in the year (Nechochwen, and Obsequiae to name two) there was still plenty of good material out there this year. Here’s some of it:
