Following last September’s update on the health and condition of former Decapitated vocalist Adrian Covanek—who was left unresponsive and under full medical and familial supervision after a tragic tour-bus accident in 2007—another bit of news, some of the most hopeful yet, has arisen.
Adrian’s father, Leszek Covanek, has reported that the novel and daily treatment of a hyperbaric chamber has resulted in slight yet positive effects in his son’s condition.
“We’ve observed that he is more active. But please understand that Adrian is in a semi-coma. His brain is totally damaged, and any progress with him would be like a normal person conquering the Himalayas. But we are hopeful, but it’s not going to happen quickly.
“We are observing him day and night, and he’s still undergoing his standard physiotherapies. (Thanks to the chamber) he is more stable when standing (45 min/per session). He has a better appetite when he’s eating normal food.”
But such treatment, as one would expect, remains exceedingly costly—over 23,000 EUR—so The Metal Observer and the Covanek family would like to graciously ask that any and all fans of Decapitated and our website please reach into your pockets and donate whatever you can to Adrian’s continued rehabilitation.
