]]>You are entirely correct Nick. Native Americans are the native culture of the US. The problem is, that culture is not very well known to most modern Americans outside of what they learn in school. It’s our own fault for relegating them to reservations but the reality is that most people don’t understand even a fraction of Native American culture. I only know two Folk Metal bands with lyrics about Native American culture: Nechochwen from West Virginia and Ch’aska from Peru. I’m surprised more bands haven’t at least thought about or tried it because there’s a lot of new ground that could be covered (musically and lyrically) there.
The US is primarily a nation of immigrants at this point and the native culture we had has gotten lost over the centuries, which is sad. Maybe more bands will pop up and cover Native American themes. Who knows.
